Baby's Head. Refrence 101 Sculpting (3.5 month old baby)

This blog will help you understand better a baby's anatomy, for polymer clay sculptures, or for drawing.

Now when we look at a baby's head, it tends to be "cute" and that's partly because of their huge head, and cute button nose, little mouth and huge eyes. NOTE: baby's eyes are almost as big as adults eyes.

Line Number 1 divides the middle of the head.
Line Number 2 is placed horizontally right in the middle of the head, this is where the eyes are going to be placed.
Notice lines A1, A2 are there to give you an idea of how big the eyes should be.
Lines Number 2,3 and 4 are placed equal distance to each other.
Line Number 3 is going to be used for the nose
Line Number 4 is going to be used for the mouth.

Line 2 will be used for his Eyes and it will be divided into 5 portions of his face horizontally. The middle is going to be 1/5th of this portion. Following the middle portion end to end will be 2 cute almost adult size eyes.

Line 2 in this Picture is the nose and is going to be 1/5th of the face horizontally.

Now Line 3 is for the mouth and is going to be 1/3 of the face horizontally starting in the middle.
Underneath the mouth we are going to have a chin. The space between the chin and the mouth should be slightly wider than the line from the nose to the mouth.
